She sat in her room near the window, her arms wrapped around herself as her thoughts raced. The weight of everything that had happened pressed down on her chest like a heavy stone.
A single tear rolled down her cheek. She wiped it away quickly.
"Kian..." she whispered.
Her gaze shifted toward her phone, which lay on the bedside table.
He didn't even call me once. He didn't even ask if I was okay Her throat tightened.
Slowly, she reached for her phone. As soon as she unlocked it, Kian's picture flashed on the home screen.
She hesitated.
A battle raged within her-part of her didn't want to call, afraid of what he might say, but another part of her desperately needed to hear his voice.
Swallowing her fear, she opened her contacts and hit dial on Kian's number.
She pressed the phone to her ear, waiting.
It kept ringing.
No answer.
Kian, please pick up she gripped the phone tighter.
Still, nothing.
She tried again.
This time, an automated voice spoke: "The person you are trying to reach is currently busy. Please try again later."
Her heart sank.
Her fingers trembled as she dialed his other number. It rang for a while before the same message played again.
A painful realization hit her.
He blocked me. Tears welled in her eyes.
Don't do this to me, Kian. Please she begged
A soft knock on the door startled her. She turned toward it, blinking away her tears.
"Mam, your mother sent food for you," a servant girl said gently, standing in the doorway with a tray.
"Im not hungry. Take it back" Sofi replied, turning her head away.
The servant hesitated. "Ma'am, your mother said you have to eat, or she will-"
"Didn't you hear what I said? Leave!" Sofi snapped, her voice sharp with frustration. The girl flinched, lowering her gaze. "Sorry, ma'am," she murmured and turned to leave.
"Wait." Sofi's voice softened slightly.
The girl stopped and turned back.
"Do you have a phone?" Sofi asked, stepping closer.
The servant hesitated before nodding. "Yes, ma'am."
"Give it to me" sofi said The girl looked uncertain.
"Give it to me already" Sofi urged impatiently.
Reluctantly, the servant pulled her phone out of her pocket.
Sofi quickly snatched it. "You can go. I'll return it in a while."
The girl only nodded and left.
Sofi rushed back to the window, her fingers trembling as she dialed Kian's number from the servant's phone.
This time Kian answered
"Hello?" Kian's voice came through the line.
Her breath caught in her throat.
"Who's this?" he asked when there was no response.
Still, Sofi couldn't bring herself to speak.
"If you don't say anything, I'm cutting the call," he said impatiently. "Fine."
Just as he was about to hang up, she finally spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. "Kian..."
Silence.
Then-
"Don't call me again, Sofi," Kian said, his voice laced with anger.
Her heart clenched. "Please, don't hang up. Talk to me," she pleaded, tears slipping down her cheeks.
"I have nothing to say to you," he replied coldly.
"Please, Kian, don't act like this. I need you, she said, desperation dripping from her voice.
"Call the one who did this to you," he snapped.
Her breath hitched.
"Kian." she whispered, voice breaking. "How can you talk to me like this?"
He let out a bitter laugh. "After what happened? How else do you expect me to"
"What was my fault in this, Kian? It ruined me too! We were about to get married," she said, her voice trembling. "Then why.. why did you leave me? You promised you'd always stay by my side. Why are you abandoning me now?"
"I told you, Sofi,' he said, voice hardening. "I Would stay by your side only if you were mine alone. But what happened on our wedding day? Someone else came and claimed you." His voice was thick with resentment. "That couldn't have been just anyone. You must be hiding something from me. Someone who liked you, someone who couldn't stand you marrying me--so he took his revenge on you by doing this."
"Kian, there was no one else in my life. Not before you, not after you," she said, her voice cracking.
"As if I believe that" he muttered.
Sofi's breathing became uneven. "Please don't do this to me, Kian. I can't take it. You love me, right? Please, don't leave me alone like this."
"I don't love you anymore, Sofi," he said without hesitation. "I can't love you anymore."
Her world crumbled around her.
"Don't call me again," he added, his voice turning icy. "You disgust me ."
Her entire body froze.
A hollow, empty feeling settled in her chest.
"If you leave me, I will die" she blurted out, her voice trembling.
A heavy silence stretched between them.
Then Kian let out a cold chuckle.
"Go ahead, then die " he said heartlessly. "You better. IT would be better" And with that, he cut the call.
The phone slipped from her hands, falling to the floor with a soft thud.
She stood still, staring blankly ahead, her vision blurred by tears.
..........
"What do you mean the cameras were off?!" Sofi’s dad shouted at the caretaker, his face red with frustration.
The old man flinched under his gaze. "I-I don’t know, sir. They were working fine yesterday..."
"Relax, Dad," Lucifer said, placing a hand on his father's shoulder.
"How can I calm down?!" his father snapped. "How will we find out who was in the house? Who did this to Sofi?"
Lucifer's expression darkened. "We will find him," he said, his voice laced with cold determination. "And when we do, we won’t leave him alive."
Just then, a voice interrupted them.
"We should report this to the police," Ella said, walking up behind them.
Lucifer stiffened.
They all turned to face her.
She stepped closer, her eyes filled with concern.
"Report it?" Lucifer repeated, his voice slightly cracking.
"Yes," Ella nodded firmly. "Sofi deserves justice."
"She’s right," Sofi’s dad agreed. "We can’t let this slide."
"No," Lucifer said instantly.
His father frowned. "What do you mean, no?"
Lucifer took a deep breath, choosing his words carefully. "I mean, we shouldn’t rush into this. What if reporting it provokes him? Whoever did this—if he finds out we're onto him, he might act out of fear. What if he tries to hurt Sofi again?"
A heavy silence fell over them as his words sank in.
Sofi’s father exhaled sharply, running a hand down his face. "He’s right. We need to be careful."
Ella hesitated but eventually nodded. "Fine. But we have to find out who did this."
Lucifer placed a reassuring hand on his father’s shoulder. "We will."
As Ella and Sofi’s dad stood there, consumed by worry, Lucifer stood still, his lips curling into a silent smirk.
No one noticed.
No one saw the gleam of amusement in his eyes.
And no one realized... he wasn’t nearly as worried as they were.
Keep trying to find out Lucifer thought to himself, amusement flickering in his eyes. But you’ll never figure it out.
......
Sofi reached the room, her steps slow and unsteady.
She moved toward the mirror, her breath shallow as she looked at her reflection.
Kian's words echoed in her ears.
You disgust me.
Her lips trembled.
I loved you... but not anymore.
You disgust me.
The words cut deeper than any wound ever could.
Her hands trembled as she slowly raised them to her arms. A desperate, suffocating feeling clawed at her chest.
She began scratching at her skin-rubbing her arms, her shoulders, as if trying to erase something invisible. As if trying to scrub away the touch that Kian found disgusting.
Her nails dug into her skin, but no matter how much she rubbed, the feeling wouldn't leave.
Her skin turned red, burning under her touch. But she didn't stop.
Then die.
Her movements halted.
Her breath hitched.
His voice rang in her ears again.
Then die. It would be better.
She slowly looked up at the mirror again, staring at her own reflection.
His voice rang in her ears again.
Then die. It would be better.
Tears streamed down her face, but her expression was blank.
She sat down in front of the mirror, she lowered her gaze to the Wooden drawer beside her.
Her fingers hesitated for only a moment before she pulled it open.
Inside, among scattered items, her eyes landed on a small, cold object.
A blade.
She picked it up, the metal glinting under the dim light.
she looked back at herself in the mirror, her tear-streaked face staring back. Her grip on the blade tightened.
........
"I’ll check on Sofi," Ella said.
"I’ll come with you," Lucifer offered immediately.
Ella glanced at him and nodded. "Sure."
Together, they started walking toward Sofi’s room.
The hallway was silent except for their footsteps echoing against the polished floor. Just as they neared her door, Ella’s phone rang.
She glanced at the screen and sighed. "I need to take this. You go ahead, I’ll be there in a minute."
Lucifer nodded. "Alright."
As Ella walked away, answering her call, a smirk played on Lucifer’s lips.
"Better this way. I get to talk to my doll alone."
Without wasting another second, he turned the knob and slowly pushed the door open.
---
A small smile crept onto his face as he stepped inside.
Sofi.
Finally, he was near her again.
But the moment he looked toward the bed, the smile vanished.
The bed was empty.
His eyes darted toward the washroom door—it was slightly open, indicating she wasn’t inside either.
His expression darkened.
"Where did she go?" he muttered, scanning the room.
His gaze swept across the space, searching for any clue. Maybe she had gone to her mother? But something felt off.
She was nowhere in sight.
His body stiffened.
Don’t tell me…
A sudden realization hit him like a punch to the gut.
Without wasting another second, he turned and rushed out of the room, his heart pounding.
There was only one place that came to his mind.
---
Lucifer reached the room—the very place where he had taken her innocence.
And just as he expected, he found her there.
She was sitting in front of the mirror, her blank reflection staring back at her, lifeless and hollow.
A strange ache settled in his chest.
For the first time, he saw Sofi not as the fiery, bubbly girl he had been obsessed with, but as someone who had been utterly broken.
It broke him in a way he didn’t expect.
I’m sorry, Sofi… for taking your happiness away.
But then, his eyes darkened.
That happiness wasn’t real. The love, the joy—you only had it because of an illusion. If it were real, it wouldn’t have shattered this easily.
His gaze softened as he took a step closer.
But my love… my love is real. The happiness I will give you will be real. I had to take everything from you, shatter that false life, to give you something bigger, something unbreakable. It’s only a matter of time, Sofi. Once I make you mine completely, I will erase every trace of pain from your heart.
His lips curled into a small, almost tender smile.
You won’t even remember what sadness feels like. I’ll drown you in so much love, care, and happiness that you’ll forget everything else. One day, you’ll thank me for loving you.
He exhaled deeply, pushing down the strange heaviness in his chest.
"Sofi," he called softly, stepping toward her.
She didn’t react.
He got closer, his voice gentle. "What are you doing here?"
Her vacant eyes met his through the mirror, but she didn’t respond.
"Sofi," he murmured again, lowering himself beside her.
He reached out, about to touch her shoulder, but before his fingers could graze her skin—
Her eyes fluttered shut.
Her body went limp.
"Sofi!" He caught her just before she collapsed, his heart lurching in panic.
His hands gripped her shoulders as he gently shook her. "What happened to you?" His voice held an urgency he hadn’t felt before.
She didn’t respond.
His breath came in quick, uneven gasps as he tapped her cheek lightly. "Sofi, wake up!"
And then—
His gaze dropped to her wrist.
His blood ran cold.
A deep cut ran across her wrist , crimson spilling from the wound, dripping onto the floor.
