The sound of her friends laughing and chatting reached her faintly, but she didn't feel like joining them. She needed this moment of solitude, away from the lively group.
"Elena!" a familiar voice called.
she turned to see her friend
walking toward her, concern evident in
her expression.
"What are you doing here alone? Come
join us!" her friend urged, plopping down beside her.
Elena gave a faint smile. "It's peaceful
here. Isn't it pretty?" she asked, looking
around at the rolling hills and the soft
Sway of the trees.
Her friend tilted her head, studying
Elena. "What happened?".
"What could?" Elena replied with a sigh,
avoiding eye contact.
Her friend gently touched her shoulder.
"Come on, let's go back. The others are
waiting."
"You go ahead. I'll come in a bit," Elena
said softly.
Her friend hesitated but eventually
nodded. "Alright, but don't take too long, okay?"
"I won't" Elena assured her.
As her friend walked back to the group,
Elena remained seated, lost in her
thoughts. After a few minutes, she
decided to get up and return to the
others.
As she turned around, she saw Three men stood in front of her, blocking her path.
"Hey there, darling" one of them sneered, his eyes raking over her."What
are you doing here all alone?"
Elena glanced toward her friends,
realizing with dread how far away they
were. The laughter and chatter seemed
impossibly distant.
"Excuse me," she said firmly, trying to
walk past them, but another man
stepped in front of her, cutting her off.
"Not so fast" he said, his grin widening. "You're the prettiest thing l've seen all day."
One of the men reached out and
touched her cheek, his fingers rough
and unwelcome. Elena flinched,
stepping back.
She tried to move passed again but they blocked her way once again .
" Let me go, or l'lI scream," she warned, trying to sound brave, though her voice wavered.
The men laughed mockingly, their eyes
filled with malicious intent. "Go ahead,
Scream " one of them
taunted.
Elena tried to call for help, but before she could make a second Sound, one of the men clamped a hand over her mouth.
"Shut up, sweetheart" he hissed, his
breath hot against her ear.
In the distance, her friends heard the
faint sound of her voice and turned
toward her.
"Hey! What are you doing?" one of them shouted, running toward Elena.
" They're coming," one of the men
muttered, his expression darkening.
"Grab her!" the leader ordered.
Elena tried to fight back, kicking and
twisting, but the men were too strong.
One of them hoisted her over his
shoulder as if she weighed nothing.
"Put me down!" she screamed,pounding
on his back, but her cries were drowned out by the pounding of her heart.
The men ran toward a parked car,
shoving Elena inside as her friends grew closer. She tried to scramble out, but one of the men slammed the door shut. "Drive!" the leader barked.
Elena's friends reached the spot just as
the car sped away. They jumped into
their own vehicle, determined to follow.
"Let me go!" Elena screamed, trying to
grab the steering wheel, but the driver
growled in frustration.
"Hold her down!" he shouted.
The man sitting beside her grabbed her
arms and yanked her back roughly. "Sit
still, sweetheart," he snarled, his grip
bruising her skin
"Release me!" she shouted, tears
streaming down her face.
"Shut up," the man holding her snapped, his voice dripping with menace.
"She won't listen," the driver said,
opening the glove compartment and
pulling out a syringe filled with a clear
liquid.
Elena's eyes widened in terror. "No!
Please, don't!" she begged, her voice
trembling.
"It's too strong for her" one of the men
hesitated.
"The stronger, the better" the leader
sneered.
Elena turned to the man holding the syringe, desperation in her eyes. "Please, don't do this," she pleaded, but he only smirked.
Without hesitation, he grabbed her arm
and jabbed the syringe into her skin.
"No!" she cried, her voice breaking, but
within moments, her vision blurred, and her limbs grew heavy.
